The After Glow...

:: day after Christmas ::
Is one of my favorite days of the year.
 Usually, the house is stuffed with left over feast food,
pie, and homemade goodies to snack on... well into the New Year.
All is calm...
The stress of the Holidays has come to pass.
Memories were made
and
reflecting upon how blessed I am is always a treasure.
:::
Today was a day of rest, for me as well.
I spent most of the day wrapped up in my electric blanket.
( words can not express, just how much I adore my blanket! )
As I look outside my bedroom window... the storm has passed.
 It had rained all night, and once again... the clouds made room for the sun to appear.
We have been having some unusually cold nights here in Southern California.
Down into the low 30 degrees-Fahrenheit.
:::
I also, wanted to share with you... my latest Madonna painting.
 The last artful project, of my series, for this Christmas.
Honestly, for me... this was a wonderful experience,
 incorporating the Madonna paintings into this Holiday season.
SPIRITUALLY CREATIVE.

Enjoy the after glow!

 Perhaps we have more in common than we think.

Crafted as an adjective...

:: soft and puffy ::
pom-poms make me smile... in case you did not know!
 Using my Clover-Pom-Maker these yarn pom-poms are created in a snap!
I simply adore them... and every time a create these, they always make me giggle.
In my opinion, pom-poms are so much fun to decorate with.
Place them on your Christmas tree.
Use them to decorate a gift.
Tie them in a row and hang them from your mantle.
Let them swing from your curtain rod.
It is endless to what you can do with pom-poms...
so soft and puffy, they are impossible to resist!
Enjoy yourself, grab a ball of yarn.

Huichol Yarn Art - composed in color

:: soap box ::
mini canvas
An Artist's Soap Box Life # 3
This altered soap box was inspired and created using a method called-
Yarn Art or known as Huichol (pronounced Wee-chol) yarn painting.

Huichol people, once nomadic descendents of the Aztecs.
The yarn paintings were originally intended as ceremonial offerings to the Spirits to insure a bountiful harvest.
 Yarn paintings continue today as a testament to their religious and cultural beliefs. Filled with the iconography of their organizing mythology, these compositions are teeming with color and life.

 materials needed for this project:
soap box
masking tape
acrylic paint
matte
yarn
wire
embellishments
Here is a video on creating Yarn Art.
Enjoy!

Mother Mary...

:: Madonna ::
 Using art as my platform...
I share with you my spiritual path, which I have chosen to take for the holidays.
A small series of Madonna paintings.
 Let us set forth in a likeness, as from a mirror,
an admirable quality which reflects ourself...
 The clear goodness towards others...
for all mankind.
