Journal Spread

   ** Facing Raw Emotions **

The more serious the illness, the more important it is for you to fight back,
mobilizing all your resources- spiritual, emotional, intellectual, physical.
~NORMAN COUSINS

Facing any day, with letting a loved one down...
is not something anyone plans to do.
With temperatures reaching the triple digits, again...this really effects how well I feel.
Not by choice.

And, no matter how many times I've heard it said to me, "I understand."
Honestly...
I believe some don't. They wish to.
Yet, it is impossible for them to fully comprehend.

I get that...
and so does my art journal!

Art.
It is there for us always; no matter what our circumstances are.

  2. Sorry you are having a rough time at the moment. If this is the art it leads to, however, every cloud has a silver lining. You pages are wonderful - such amazing colours and textures. Amazing work, April. J x

  5. A riot of color for a riot of emotions? Covered with splashes of black for splashes of frustration? It seems this page has been a perfect reflection of your state at the moment....isn't that great? I love the page btw and love all those lovely bright colors! Chin up....you're lucky you can turn to art to soothe you; many can't/don't.

  6. Wonderful journal pages!!! So raw and inspiring!!! I SO agree with you that no one really understands what you or anyone is going through. We all have different problems, histories, personalities, etc. I have learned not to judge people on just what they say. Their problems might seem small to me, but the emotions behind it are valid and I respect that.

  7. I love all the colors and patterns April! Just wonderful. I like what you wrote and yes, we all use out art for different purposes and reasons. No one knows what anyone else is experiencing. That is why I love that Plato quote - "Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."
    So true. Take care:)

  10. I feel bad that you're feeling so down and in pain. My husband and daughter both get bad migraines (they run in his family) and although I too "understand"...I don't really because I've never had one (thank goodness) but when we love someone we learn that it's not something you can just take an aspirin for and it goes away.

I'm happy you have your art and your husband to help you deal. The journal pages are gorgeous.
